A former commander of the the nation's space operations center will provide findings next month on how the publicly-supported center can most effectively assist the scale of government AI ambitions in defense, national security and intelligence.

Operational Restructuring

The organization's leader, a ex-Amazon UK executive, confirmed that multiple research initiatives at the 440-staff institute have been closed, transferred out or finished because they do not align with the new direction.

Workplace Issues

The institute has faced organizational challenges since last year as employees objected against restructuring, culminating in a collection of workers submitting a formal grievance to the relevant regulatory body.
