Supporters Call for Arrest of Man Who Touched Ariana Grande
Devoted followers of Ariana Grande are urging that a individual who jumped a barricade and touched the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or removed from Singapore.
A viral video shows the individual from Australia pushing past media personnel and charging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a event pathway surrounded by fans.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the gathering by guards.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "released after being detained", though legal records revealed that he was set to attend court on the following morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.
Pattern of Disruptions
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram profile features recordings of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.
"There needs to be action applied against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," commented an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user remarked.
Supporters Express Concern Over Ariana's Safety
Several supporters accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the end of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming numerous individuals.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said a further message on Instagram.
Some fans also questioned guards at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals demanded digital services to ban Mr Wen's uploads.
Aftermath and Event Details
In footage spreading on the internet, Grande appeared startled when she was approached by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.
Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.
Numerous of supporters had assembled in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore venue, including some who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it started.

The show itself is a spin-off of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
