Recent Information Surface Concerning the Finding of the Reiner Couple's Bodies
New information has come to light regarding the untimely deaths of esteemed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their residence home on Sunday.
A Discovery
A source indicates referencing a confidential source, a practitioner arriving for an session first raised the alarm after failing to get inside the residence. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.
After gaining access to the house, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Developments
Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently in custody without bail.
Disputed Reports
The confidential informant also disputed several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.
Furthermore pushed back against widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation includes accounts of reportedly "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they maintained that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Details
Per law enforcement officials, the coroner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the family home. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
