Ex- Physician Faces Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a former physician now faces charges for performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
