Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that challenges conventional predictions, the game developer has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome changes reverberate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret sect.
The adventure centers on "peculiar trials and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana together with multiple objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also brings the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
